NEOM, the sustainable residential and tourism development taking shape in northwest Saudi Arabia have announced Leyja, its latest destination celebrating wellness and luxury in the region.
What Is Leyja?
Leyja begins at the Gulf of Aqaba coast in the west, and winds its way inland forming a natural valley between 400 meter-high mountains. The development will combine innovative, ecological design and construction techniques to ensure a seamless fusion into the landscape.
With this, Leyja’s three hotels have been intelligently and carefully designed to complement the surrounding nature. Each of the three properties will have 40 rooms, for a total of 120 accommodations in the valley.
Adventure Hotel
The Adventure Hotel property is tailor-made for active lifestyles. The deconstructed design climbs the walls of the wadi like a staircase, its structure tracing the topography with minimal disturbance of the terrain’s natural lines. Its unique location, folded into the cliff top and valley sides, lends itself to those seeking rock climbing and other intense experiences in the area.
Oasis Hotel
The Oasis Hotel rises from the rock to sit prominently at the heart of the wadi, functioning as a gateway to discovery and exploration of the valley. The impressive staircase ascending from the canyon to the entrance of the property is an impressive journey in itself, and promises extraordinary views of the valley in all its beauty.
Wellness Hotel
The Wellness Hotel is an immersive wellness retreat promoting longevity, with a high-tech, reflective façade mirroring the surrounding beauty and valley walls. It’s location allows for the wadi’s natural passage through the property’s center, providing visitors with a unique and interactive experience.
Once complete, Leyja will offer an extensive selection of exclusive experiences and activities, including fine dining and contemporary restaurants presented by world-renowned chefs. Wellness facilities and rooftop infinity-style pools across the three properties will also be key features of the must-go destinations. Guided wadi walks, and hiking trails set in the valley’s mountain landscapes await guests, with mountain biking and climbing also offered for those looking for adventure.
